A Message From Traci Shaw

In July 2026, I will be traveling to Sierra Leone to support Helping Children Worldwide’s medical efforts at Mercy UMC Hospital, including hospital‑based services and outreach clinics that bring essential care to surrounding villages. This campaign helps sustain maternal and infant health services, nutrition support, and infectious disease testing for communities with limited access to healthcare. Helping Children Worldwide partners with Mercy UMC Hospital, a fully staffed medical facility in Bo, Sierra Leone, to deliver essential healthcare services to mothers, infants, and families—regardless of their ability to pay. I will be traveling with a medical support mission to assist with these efforts on the ground—working alongside local teams to help expand access to care, support outreach clinics, and address real‑world resource constraints faced by patients and providers. Through its outreach program, Mercy extends care beyond the hospital walls, reaching communities that would otherwise have little or no access to medical services. I am looking to raise $3500 individually to support my team. Your donation directly supports these programs and helps ensure continuity of essential care. As one example of impact, a $25 donation can provide life‑saving treatment for three malnourished babies for one month through Mercy’s nutrition program. By supporting this campaign, you are helping strengthen healthcare delivery where the need is greatest and ensuring that vital medical services remain accessible to vulnerable populations.
