A Message From Maryanne Neddenien
In January 2026, I will be traveling on a Medical Missions Trip to Sierra Leone through Helping Children Worldwide, a United Methodist Church affiliate organization. The trip will provide midwives there with additional skills to use during medical/obstetrical emergencies in low resource areas. My contribution will be to serve on the mental health portion of this team to deliver programming on respectful maternal and perinatal care under stressful conditions. The mental health portion specifically addresses midwife burnout. I will be leading breathwork sessions each morning to help the midwives center and focus as they go through the training. I hope that the breathwork can augment how they use their new skills to improve the health and well being of pre and post-partum mothers and their babies.
I know how hard it can be to donate funds in these times. I do need your help. Please, if you can, donate to my fundraiser as you can afford. But more than anything else, support us with your prayers.
As we approach the coming two months, I wish everyone a joyous season of good food, friends and family.
