The Missionary Training Centre (MTC) is a special place where guests enjoy wonderful hospitality, delicious meals, a clean, safe and secure facility and compound, laundry service, and electricity when they need it most. The MTC was built in 2007 with the first team, a group of college students, arriving in December of that year.
The twelve year-old MTC generator has served the MTC well, but it is no longer functioning. It is beyond repair. Over the past decade plus, the MTC staff has done a herculean job to maintain the diesel generator. Their demonstrated good stewardship through multiple repairs and several overhauls represent outstanding use of limited funds to support emergency power for the MTC guests. The remaining small gasoline powered back-up generator is working all out when there is a demand for electricity and EDSA (the local power) is not available. There is great concern given the taxing operations placed on the back-up generator that it could fail in the very near future. As the Dry Season approaches it will become more and more frequent that no EDSA power will be available to run and support the needs of the MTC guests. It is with this condition that we feel it is appropriate to reach out to the hundreds of sacrificial volunteers who have enjoyed staying at the MTC. Without your support at this pivotal time it is very possible that the MTC will go dark for large portions of the day and night.
We know your lives are full of demands for your time, talent, and resources, but we are prayerfully hopeful that within a 21-day period of time, we will rejoice and celebrate together achieving the funding goal to again place the MTC in a fully operational state due to the generosity of those who have traveled to Bo over the last 12 years or more, to serve Him.
Thank you for helping us "Power Up the MTC"!
Brightest Blessings, Patty and Allen Morell
